I don't you have to worry about NewTek being a competitor. What you will
hold out and wait for the NewTek product.
I don't want to start an argument, but that press release was just for show
as are most press releases. It didn't say they were developing Java for LW.
It said they are pursuing joint development. That could mean anything.
It is just another smoozefest. It makes Apple look like people are not
jumping ship because the Mac is dying. It helps Sun to push Java as a
standard. I won't speculate why NewTek is in it, other than that they don't
want to be in the shadows of Play/Softimages joint announcement.
Now maybe someone from NT may jump in to say the Sun/Apple/NewTek
relationship was done before anyone knew about Play/Softimage.
